From 1973-80 Bob played in Muddy Waters’ band, appearing on all of the albums Muddy made then and at special shows like The Last Waltz. While leading his band and playing his own music at his own shows, Bob still honors Muddy Waters in his music and special shows. as in December 2017 on this Facebook Live video that got 59,000 views on the Muddy Waters Official Facebook Page.
After nearly 50 years of playing the Blues, Margolin should be bestowed with the 'icon'
title. He's not just a link to many blues artists now gone from this world…but continues
to breathe new life into the genre. Be sure to follow Margolin down his own personal
Blues Highway by repeatedly listening to 'My Road'. You won't regret it. (Bill Mitchell/

Nathan Pope Band
My name is Nathan and I am a young blues guitarist from the heart of North Carolina with a great love for the blues. I received my first guitar at the age of 2 and was teaching myself to play by the age of 7. I give credit to my Grandmother, Doris Powell, for her inspiration and love of music. My knowledge and capabilities began to expand when I found the local blues society and started joining in on the weekly jams. The support and knowledge that I have gained from these jams has boosted my confidence and taken my playing ability to the next level.
In 2015 I gained unparalleled knowledge when I attended the Pinetop Perkins Masterclass workshop in Claksdale Mississippi. The workshop gave the ability to work with the likes of Bob Margolin, Jonn Del Toro Richardson and another young guitarist, Christone "Kingfish" Ingram. I now perform in my own band with two seasoned musicians, Chuck Sirko and Bruce Wassel, as well as on my own acoustically. I have developed a very supportive fan base that enjoys my unique twist on the classics as well as my original tunes.
